Today on April 15 2014 I went to LA to take my Stateboard licensure test and I am officially a Esthetician now!!!
Words can’t express how happy I am to have accomplished so much in the past couple of months 👍
That being said I promise to have a post up either later tonight or tomorrow since I’m not overwhelmed with Stateboard anymore 😊
Because I never burn when Im outside for long periods of time I don’t need to worry about sunscreen.
Since its not sunny outside I don’t have to apply sunscreen because I wont burn.
These were the statements I used to say before I went into Esthetics school and do they sound legit to you?!
No,Wrong!👎👊 Everyone needs sunscreen and should be applying it on especially on cloudy days!
Daily sunscreen is helpful to protect your skin from the two types of UV Radiation: UVA and UVB
UVA radiation is also known as aging rays. UVA contributes to 95% of the sun’s ultraviolet radiation reaching the earth’s surface. The longer wavelengths of UVA penetrate deeper into the skin and cause genetic damage and cell death. UVA Rays are more present on cloudy days and people don’t realize that UVA is more damaging to your health in the long run than UVB( its still bad though)
UVB radiation is also know as burning rays. UVB causes burning of the skin as well as tanning, aging, and cancer. Although UVB penetration is shorter and not as deep as UVA, these wavelengths are stronger and more damaging to the skin and can damage the eyes as well. On a brighter note UVB radiation contributes to the body’s intake of vitamin D and other important minerals.
I can not stress this enough sun exposure unprotected can lead to skin cancer, aging, hyperpigentation, capillary damage, free radical damage, and collagen and elastin deterioration.
Sunscreen Ingredients to look for:
**If you noticed that some ingredients are mentioned in both categories because they actually protect against both UV Rays**👍😊
If you have anymore questions or comments I’d gladly answer them 😀
Welcome to my Skincare Blog.
A little background info on me, my name is Fredrika I am almost a Licensed Esthetician in the state of California. I completed my 600 hour program at Bellus Academy and I loved every minute of it!
I decided I wanted to make a blog because I love the industry I’m about to enter and I wanted to share my knowledge with others. I love to write and do research on topics that spike my interest so I thought why not create a blog especially since I have a lot of free time on my hands.
If someone were to ask me what my expectations are for this blog I would simply tell them.. Well people do not have to read my blog. Really. This is for me to look back on and see how far Ive come to get to this point and how far I will go in my career as a Esthetician. I wont just be documenting skincare lines, ingredients, and makeup. Im documenting MY LIFE in the beauty industry and how its changing for the better..
